Driving Hospitality Partner Acquisition and Onboarding
Project
Hospitality Partner Acquisition, Onboarding, and Marketplace Supply Growth
Overview
GETTEASY is a hospitality technology platform that connects customers with accommodation and travel-related services, including hotels, short-let apartments, car rentals, boat cruises, and event bookings. The platform operates as an intermediary between customers and hospitality service providers, which means marketplace value depends heavily on sufficient, credible supply. My role focused on identifying hospitality businesses, generating qualified leads, engaging decision-makers, and onboarding hotels and short-let apartment providers onto the GETTEASY platform. The objective was not simply lead generation but converting suitable hospitality businesses into active, booking-ready platform partners.
The Challenge
A hospitality marketplace faces a two-sided growth challenge: customers need attractive and reliable listings, while service providers need a compelling reason to join and remain active. The key challenges included identifying suitable hotels and short-let apartments, building a consistent prospect pipeline, reaching property owners and decision-makers, communicating the value proposition of GETTEASY, handling objections around platform fees and commercial value, qualifying businesses before onboarding, supporting prospects through onboarding, ensuring newly onboarded providers had usable listings, and building enough quality inventory to improve customer choice. The challenge was therefore not simply lead generation. It was Lead → Qualification → Engagement → Conversion → Onboarding → Marketplace Supply.
- ▸Identifying suitable hotels and short-let apartments with customer-ready facilities.
- ▸Building a consistent and qualified prospect pipeline.
- ▸Reaching property owners, general managers, and commercial decision-makers.
- ▸Communicating the commercial value of joining the GETTEASY marketplace.
- ▸Handling objections around the 5% platform service charge and fee value.
- ▸Qualifying businesses before onboarding to protect marketplace quality.
- ▸Supporting prospects through listing setup, pricing, and availability management.
- ▸Ensuring newly onboarded partners became active, booking-ready listings.
My Strategic Approach
Defined the Ideal Partner Profile
Rather than approaching every accommodation provider, I focused prospecting on businesses more likely to benefit from marketplace distribution.
- Hotels, serviced apartments, and short-let apartments
- Properties in attractive, commercially relevant locations
- Businesses with professional facilities and customer-ready accommodation
- Providers with existing booking demand and reliable availability management
Built a Prospecting Pipeline
Researched and identified potential hospitality partners through digital channels and market research, following a structured Research → Identify → Qualify → Contact → Follow Up → Convert → Onboard workflow.
- Assessed property type, location, and customer appeal
- Reviewed existing digital presence and decision-maker accessibility
- Estimated potential booking value and marketplace fit
Engaged Decision-Makers
Conversations focused on understanding the provider's business before positioning GETTEASY, structuring dialogue around Provider's Business Need → Platform Value → Commercial Fit → Onboarding.
- Increased online visibility and marketplace presence
- Access to additional customers and booking distribution channels
- Reduced dependence on individual acquisition channels
- Opportunity to reach customers actively searching for hospitality services
Applied Commercial Judgment
Not every lead represented a good partner opportunity. Prospects were assessed across multiple signals to keep the pipeline focused on qualified supply rather than activity volume.
- Property quality and suitability for the platform
- Location relevance and customer appeal
- Decision-maker access and commercial potential
- Ability to maintain reliable inventory and pricing
- Alignment with GETTEASY's marketplace positioning
Managed Objections Around Platform Fees
GETTEASY requires merchants to pay a minimum 5% service charge. Instead of treating this only as a cost objection, the conversation was reframed around the commercial exchange.
- Provider gives a percentage of transaction value
- GETTEASY provides marketplace access and incremental booking opportunities
- Positioned the discussion around return and value rather than fee alone
Supported Partner Onboarding
Once a prospect agreed to join, the focus shifted to reducing friction between agreement and becoming a usable marketplace listing.
- Business and property information collection
- Listing content, images, and service descriptions
- Pricing, availability, and contact information setup
- Platform requirement guidance and compliance checks
Focused on Activation, Not Just Acquisition
A signed partner is not necessarily a successful partner. Onboarding was viewed through an activation lens: Acquired → Onboarded → Listed → Ready for Booking → Active.
- Tracked listing publication and booking readiness
- Prioritized active supply over registration volume
- Aligned acquisition effort with marketplace growth outcomes

Conclusion
The biggest lesson from GETTEASY was that growth is not simply about acquiring more customers or partners. It is about acquiring the right partners, onboarding them effectively, helping them become active, and creating enough value for them to remain engaged. The framework I developed from this experience is Identify → Qualify → Engage → Convert → Onboard → Activate → Retain. That same lifecycle thinking applies directly to Customer Success. A successful onboarding does not end when the customer signs up. It ends when the customer is successfully positioned to realize value.
